Natalia Dumitresco (born Natalia Dumitrescu; b. December 20, 1915, Bucharest, Romania – d. July 3, 1997, Chars, France) was an abstract Romanian-French painter associated, after the Second World War, with the salon in Paris Réalités Nouvelles, a movement influenced by the art of painters Vasili Kandinski and Alberto Magnelli.
Other abstract expressionist painters associated with Réalités Nouvelles were Serge Poliakoff and Alexandre Istrati. Dumitresco later married Alexandre Istrati.
After a number of years of work in black and white, she approached color painting, which shows originality and a great freshness of colors in compositions.
She and her husband are buried in the Montparnasse Cemetery in Paris, the same cemetery where Constantin Brâncuși is buried.
