Monday, February 12, 2023, 5:00 p.m., the Rotenberg-Uzunov Gallery invites you to the opening of the "Endless Temptations" Exhibition signed by BIA, Ioan Alexandru Boanchiș.
"In the spring of 2023, I met Răzvan Boanchiș at Mobu. We were high school mates. I was in the eleventh grade, he was in the ninth. We talked, as was normal at Mobu, about painting and I remembered that in 1985 I saw a match between Stella and some Hungarians at his house. I remembered that he had a lot of paintings on the walls. I knew his father was a doctor and a collector. I asked him how the old man was doing." - Eduard Mircea Uzunov.
"My father died in 2022. What you don't know is that he was also a painter. One about whom Fănuș Neagu, Nichita Stănescu and Marin Sorescu wrote, but also important critics. I will bring you an album of his. He was a member UAP, he had many exhibitions in Bucharest, but also in Iași or Arad. He sold works in about ten to fifteen Western countries. When he exhibited at Căminul Artei, the American ambassador was so delighted that he bought a work from him. They 150-200 works painted by him remain."
My father was a dentist. When I was little and he took me with him to the painting exhibitions, I would call him: "wolf!" The thick brushwork of dentist Boanchiș is done with a wolf canine. Always when I saw him in front of the easel I was amazed at how he was melting tubes of paint. On each canvas or cardboard he used enough material for ten paintings. Later, reading Zambaccian's notes, I found out some words of Signac - "The canvas must be well covered, nourished, because with time the color penetrates the canvas and tends to disappear. How many graceful paintings will disappear, while the most loaded canvases de Cezanne gains day by day in splendour."
Since his youth, father tried to tear the wolf's canine from the face of the golden hills of Transylvania. When he succeeded, he turned his canine into an oar and sailed through the deep sea stretching from Constanta to the Delta.
It was my father, the dentist Ioan Alexandru Boanchiș, and he will remain the BIA painter, as he signed his paintings." - Răzvan Ioan Boanchiș

"I went and saw them. Fănuș Neagu was right when he described him. Boanchiș, called Bia, even painted with red grapes and blue with a cigarette smoked by a black prince. And at the end of the text, Fănuș thanked Bia for knowing how to tempt him endlessly.
I feel the same way now, and so I want to take this romantic, solar and sumptuous painter into many important collections. I consider this imperatively necessary. He was a prestigious dentist from Bucharest and his paintings will be healing for the dimples in your homes." - Eduard Mircea Uzunov, Rotenberg-Uzunov Art Gallery.
The exhibition is organized by Galeria Rotenberg - Uzunov, one of the most important contemporary art galleries in Bucharest, and can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., 3 Constantin Esarcu str., Bucharest .
