Rotenberg-Uzunov Gallery announces the opening of a spectacular Exhibition-Event, Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 6 pm: “First time-Frederick Hart in Romania” -private collection. Online event.
The exhibition features some of the fascinating sculptures, signed by the American sculptor Frederick Elliott Hart (November 3, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia - August 13, 1999, in Baltimore, Maryland). The creator of hundreds of public monuments, private commissions, portraits and other works of art, Hart is most famous for Ex Nihilo, part of his Creative Sculptures at Washington National Cathedral and The Three Soldiers (also known as the three soldiers) at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.
Hart modeled his work in clay. Many of his larger pieces were carved in Italian marble or limestone or cast in bronze. Throughout his career, Hart has explored themes of beauty and spirituality, consciousness and identity, sculpting in transparent and semi-transparent acrylic materials using a process he has patented.
In 2000, Tom Wolfe profiled Hart for The New York Times Magazine in an article entitled: The Artist the Art World Could Not See: “I have not tried to try to relive or recreate the past; but I sought guidance from those timeless elements of the past that remain valid and vital to the future ... The purpose of my art is to seek beauty and truth and to explore and glorify the human being and the universe. "
The exhibition is organized by Rotenberg Gallery - Uzunov, can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 14:30 -19: 30, and Sunday: 14:00 - 20:00, in compliance with the safety regulations in force, in order to prevent contamination with the new SARS-VOC-2 coronavirus.
