Thursday, November 16, 2023, 18:00, Rotenberg-Uzunov Gallery invites you to the Opening of the "INNER PEACE" Exhibition, signed by Emanuela Abramovich.
In a world divided by extrinsic motivation and struggles, the ten large-scale works from the INNER PEACE exhibition invite us to reflect, in the hope of finding a touch of peace, beauty and unity, themes that trouble humanity, from the older times.
Emanuela Abramovich was born in Iasi and has been living - for over 20 years - in Israel with her family. Living in his adopted country shaped his artistic path, because he has been painting in watercolor and acrylic since childhood, but there he started working in oil, thanks to the meeting with Mark Bouganim, a professor at the University of Fine Arts in Paris.
He taught her the secrets of drawing and painting, following a technique used by Michelangelo, which involves sketching with chalk, on a "negative" where the proportions are selflessly respected, then applying color, managing to take her out of the creative comfort zone, the artist succeeding to exhibit at museums, art galleries in Israel, Greece and - now - Romania.
The master also taught her to pay close attention to details, like the surrealists, "to learn the rules like a professional and break them like an artist", as Picasso advised. He applied the urge, starting from minimalist surfaces, like William Kentridge or the realistic themes of Edgar Degas (ballerinas, the human body), using the motif of tulle or water, like Robin Eley, or broadening his creative horizon with numerous themes and techniques, as a proof of artistic maturation.
Each title and each work, to which he dedicates months, hide multiple meanings and a narrative thread that reaches the viewer's heart, representing a subtle tribute to friendship. Ióni, one of the artist's muses, named after the Greek "Iōánnēs" or the Hebrew "Yehochanan", embodies the promise that "God is gracious" and, in troubled times, life represents an act of courage.
Ella's works also remind us that "blue is not a color, but a silence", according to Nicolae Steinhardt. Through "My Own Island", the artist combats John Donne and promises us that "man is an island", because "he carries in him the collective unconscious, the spirit of the ancestors and through art we manage to rise when we become stagnant".
The symbol of peace, from "Window to Heaven", and the alter ego of the artist make us turn to beauty as an escape from everyday life.
The exhibition is organized by the Rotenberg-Uzunov Gallery, one of the most important contemporary art galleries in Bucharest, and can be visited between November 16-26, 2023, from Monday to Friday, between 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Saturday - Sundays, between 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., on Constantin Esarcu Street 1, Bucharest.
Goodbye!
