Romanian painter born in Galați. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Iasi, then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.

He trained with Gheorghe Panaitescu Bardasare. He was part of the academism and artistic youth movement.

He had personal exhibitions and participated in the Official Salon. His work was marked by the academism of the schools in which he studied.

Ludovic Bassarab mainly painted scenes from the Romanian rural life.
